In this digital era, providers of online services are only as good as their recent updates, performance speeds, and groundbreaking technology. As a business owner, you’ve probably noticed this. For instance, you'll switch over if you’re using a certain company’s artificial intelligence but realize another company’s AI assistant is more helpful. That’s why Google’s Gemini chatbot is making improvements.

The Timeline for Google’s Gemini Chatbot

In May 2024, Google announced that it would be making a significant update to the free version of Gemini so that this chatbot could provide more substantial and accurate information with better performance. On July 25, the update became available to the public, rivaling Microsoft’s OpenAI, the privately owned Anthropic, and other AI technology on the market.

Gemini’s New Abilities in the Message App

If you're an international business owner, you'll adore the updates to the Gemini chatbot. This conversation and automation powerhouse now provides natural language processing in over 40 languages, such as French, Spanish, and Polish, to reach a wider audience. Gemini 1.5 Flash is also available in 230 countries.

For instance, users in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, and Switzerland can now utilize Google Messages’ Gemini by simply selecting Gemini after clicking “start chat.”

If your company team uses Google messages, they can utilize the app by doing more than just chatting or conversing with the Gemini chatbot. They can now draft formal messages that they may later send in emails or other formats, collaborate and brainstorm ideas with teammates, or plan events all in one space.

A Longer Context Window for Better Responses

Whether you’re using messages or need online information, summarized efficiency and speed are the biggest draws. This lightweight multimodal model is a leaner version of the previous Gemini 1.5 Pro. It reduces certain features to offer users faster response times than its predecessor.

Gemini 1.5 Pro's context window is four times longer than Gemini 1.0 Pro. It also offers 32,000 tokens for quality, meaning it can process 48 pages of written words, which comes out to a whopping 24,000 words. It can also upload, download, or process more audio, videos, images, and codes so your company experiences less downtime while waiting for information to reach its destination.

Your team also receives more content during online research when they type in a prompt. For instance, using the Gemini chatbot to ask a question will give you a summary answer using online information from stellar sources. At the end of the summarized paragraph, it’ll offer useful links to continue your search into the related topic.

Google plans to improve the AI assistant by programming it to analyze and summarize extensive data files, which you can then use to create visuals like graphs and charts.
